Urban Tree Outreach and Service Project Grant
The Montana Urban Tree and Community Forestry Association has funds ranging from $250 to $2,0000 to assist Montana communities, agricultural businesses, and nonprofits with urban forestry related projects. Ranching for Rivers Cost-Share
Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Montana (SWCDM) and Missouri River Conservation Districts Council have funding available to help ranchers with riparian pasture fencing projects. Ranching for Rivers offers up to 50% cost-share for riparian pasture fencing, pasture-related infrastructure, and construction costs. This round of funding will also include the services of a range management specialist to work with each landowner to design a customized grazing plan for the new pasture. This program is open to any project located on a stream included in a Department of Environmental Quality Watershed Restoration Plan. Applications are due Friday, September 22, 2017. Applications submitted after the deadline will be eligible for the next round of funding. Learn more about the program on SWCDM’s website.
Water Quality Mini Grant
Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Montana (SWCDM) is calling for applications for education and outreach projects that address nonpoint source water quality issues. Awards can be up to $3,000 and there is approximately $10,500 available this funding cycle. Any conservation district, watershed group, nonprofit, school district, local or county agency, or other entity able to manage federal funding is encouraged to apply. Survey for Miller Creek Landowners
Missoula Valley Water Quality District is asking Miller Creek landowners to take part in a brief survey as part of a Watershed Restoration Plan project. Download the survey here and mail or email your responses back to the address on the document.

Community Food and Agriculture Coalition’s Farm Link Montana hosts these hands-on workshops and tours for farm hands, farmers, and ranchers on the third Wednesday of each month, May through September. Check out this new online database of conservation programs available across the state. The Montana Conservation Catalog was developed for landowners interested in implementing conservation practices on their land and is brought to you by Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Montana.
